Kidney tonifying, a Chinese medicine term, refers to changing the state of kidney deficiency through diet, medicine, fitness exercise, Qigong, acupuncture and moxibustion, massage and other means. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that kidney deficiency is divided into kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency, and different diagnoses and treatments should be made based on different symptoms.
Differentiation of symptoms of kidney deficiency
1. Symptoms of kidney yang deficiency. The most common symptoms of kidney yang deficiency are low back pain and chills, as well as cold hands and feet, accompanied by frequent urination.
2. Symptoms of kidney yin deficiency. In clinical practice, there are more symptoms of kidney yin deficiency: soreness in the waist and legs, dry mouth, irritability, hot palms, and a tendency to sweat, all of which belong to the symptoms of kidney yin deficiency.
3. Symptoms of kidney qi deficiency. Symptoms include easy fatigue, shortness of breath, soreness in the waist and knees, frequent urination (frequent nocturia), and weak tongue.
In winter, men must eat health preserving Congee to nourish the kidney
1. Cuscuta Congee. Method: 30g of dodder seeds (double fresh ones), 100g of rice, and an appropriate amount of sugar. First, wash and mash the dodder seeds, fry them in water to get juice, add rice and cook them into porridge. When they are cooked, add white sugar and take 2 doses every day in the morning and evening. It can tonify the kidney, nourish essence, warm yang, and treat impotence. Men with kidney deficiency may as well try the gentry tear!
2. Chinese yam and wolfberry Congee. Method: 150g japonica rice, 200g yam, 50g goji berries, and an appropriate amount of white sugar. Wash the japonica rice, peel and cut the yam into small pieces, and cook it gently for 30 minutes to form Congee. This Congee is soft and refreshing, which can eliminate fatigue, enrich blood and improve eyesight.
3. Suoyang Congee. Method: 15 grams of lock sun, 100 grams of rice, and an appropriate amount of seasoning. Clean the rice, fry it in Suoyang water for juice, boil the rice into porridge, and when it is cooked, add some salt, monosodium glutamate, scallions, and ginger powder, and boil it slightly, one dose a day. It can nourish the liver and kidneys, strengthen the waist and knees.
4. Congee with cistanche and mutton. Method: Take 20g of Cistanche deserticola, wash and cut into thin slices, 150-250g of refined mutton, 100g of rice, and cook Congee.
5. Colorful shrimp Congee. Method: 150 grams of glutinous rice, 100 grams of fresh shrimp, 50 grams of tender peas, corn kernels, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and a little salt and scallions. Wash glutinous rice, fresh shrimp, tender peas and corn kernels, cut mushrooms and carrots into pieces, first boil glutinous rice for 20 minutes to form Congee, then add fresh shrimp, tender peas, corn kernels, mushrooms and carrots, and boil for 5 minutes. This Congee is delicious and smooth. It can nourish the liver and kidney, dry and smooth the intestines.
Precautions for kidney protection
1. Excessive bitter and cold foods can easily damage the kidneys, such as bitter gourds, pork, goose, and beer. Eating too much can also damage the kidneys;
2. Men who come into contact with too much detergent can also damage their kidneys. Families should use less detergent to clean tableware and fruits and vegetables to avoid excessive intake of detergent residues;
3. Moderate exercise can delay aging, but the intensity should not be too high. Sports that are within your ability should be selected to promote blood circulation and improve blood stasis, qi loss, and other conditions. Walking, jogging, brisk walking, or walking barefoot on pebbles can promote blood circulation and have an auxiliary therapeutic effect on kidney deficiency.
