Summer is the season of high incidence of urinary diseases, and prostatitis is the most common disease in urology. Recently, the weather has changed dramatically, and acute prostatitis is on the trend of outbreak. More than 60 patients came yesterday. It is noteworthy that many patients with acute prostatitis came to the hospital for treatment after being misdiagnosed.
Be careful of acute to chronic
Acute prostatitis is easy to cause complications, mainly including acute urinary pond tumor, acute seminal vesiculitis or epididymitis and vasculitis, enlargement or tenderness of spermatic lymph nodes, and in severe cases, it can be accompanied by pain in the groin, and in severe cases, it can be accompanied by renal colic. Teng Wenrong, deputy chief physician of the Department of Urology of Tongji Hospital in Hangzhou, said that the main cause of acute prostatitis was retrograde urinary tract infection caused by poor lifestyle. Therefore, when summer comes, we should pay more attention to personal hygiene.
After the onset of acute prostatitis, patients may have systemic symptoms such as fatigue, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, chills and fever. According to Dr. Teng, if the patient has pain in the perineum and small abdomen, it will go down to the waist, lower abdomen, back and thigh. During urination, frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, dripping urine, poor urination, interruption, and white urethra may occur. In addition, the rectum has swelling pain and sagging feeling, and there is blood sperm phenomenon during sexual life. If these symptoms continue for more than a week and the body temperature is high but does not drop, the formation of prostatic abscess should be suspected, and regular prostatitis treatment should be accepted.
The treatment of acute prostatitis lies in early diagnosis and administration of effective antibiotics, supplemented by rest, sitz bath, physical therapy and other measures. After the symptoms are controlled, it is advisable to continue to use drugs for 3 to 4 weeks to prevent the disease from becoming chronic.
Prostatitis tends to be younger
Prostatitis patients are mainly married men, but male adolescents are not uncommon in clinic. The main clinical manifestations of adolescent patients are listlessness, fatigue and weakness, waist soreness and leg weakness, frequent ejaculation and endless urination. There is often thin watery secretion or milky mucus at the urethral orifice, and there is slight burning or discomfort at the urethral site during urination.
