Why do men like women with big breasts, fat buttocks, and thin waists? Some people analyze it from a cultural perspective and believe that it is just a fashion. They provide evidence that people have different aesthetic standards in different eras and societies. Some people explain from a biological perspective that the larger a woman's buttocks relative to her waist, the more advantageous it is for giving birth, while the larger the breasts, the more milk they can secrete.
Harvard University in the United States recently proposed a new perspective on this phenomenon, believing that it is simply because women with large breasts, fat buttocks, and a slender waist have stronger fertility. They found that there was a significant correlation between the levels of two hormones related to fertility and the body size of women in their reproductive period.
Researchers collected data on the body size of 119 women aged between 24 and 37, and sampled their saliva to observe its changes during a menstrual cycle. Then, the researchers divided these saliva samples into four types, namely those related to thin waist and fat buttocks, those related to thin waist and thin buttocks, those related to smaller breasts, and those related to larger breasts. The researchers carefully analyzed the levels of progesterone and 17-b estradiol in the saliva of these four types of subjects - two hormones known to be related to female fertility.
Researchers have found that women with two types of slender waist have very high levels of progesterone, while those with a slender waist and large breasts have the highest levels of 17-b estradiol - especially during their ovulation period. Because their level is so high, Jiaxinska estimates that such women are three times more likely to conceive in any situation than women of other body sizes. From an evolutionary perspective, this means that women with a slender waist, especially those with ample breasts, fat buttocks, and a slender waist, will become the most sought after partner for men.
However, it is not yet clear how women's physical characteristics reflect their hormone levels, which is what researchers are preparing to study next.
