Sexual Health
The symptoms of chronic prostatitis can be summarized into the following five categories
Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a chronic disease caused by bacterial infection. Although some patients undergo systematic and regular antibacterial treatment, they may still experience delay or relapse. Some researchers believe that although some patients have selected sensitive drugs in their treatment, they still cannot achieve ideal therapeutic effects. In addition to the above reasons, it may also be due to the formation of biofilms by certain staphylococci in the prostate tube, which hinders the bactericidal effect of antibiotics.
The symptoms of chronic prostatitis can be summarized into the following five categories:
The symptoms of chronic prostatitis are diverse, and the symptoms are not proportional to the severity of inflammation. Some patients have asymptomatic prostate fluid that contains a large number of pus cells, while some patients have normal or nearly normal prostate fluid tests, but the clinical symptoms are very severe.
1. Discomfort in urination
Frequent urination, burning pain in the urethra, and pain radiating to the head of the penis can occur; In the early morning, there is mucus, sticky filaments, and pus secretion at the urethral orifice, and urine is turbid or white after defecation; In severe cases, small terminal hematuria, dysuria or urinary retention may occur.
2. Sexual dysfunction
Due to the long duration of the disease and high mental pressure on patients, some patients may experience decreased or disappeared libido, ejaculatory pain, blood semen, premature ejaculation, impotence, ejaculation, and infertility.
3. Local symptoms
Discomfort, pressure, or fullness in the posterior urethra, perineum, and anus, especially when squatting or defecating.
4. Radiation pain
The prostate or seminal vesicle is rich in sympathetic innervation. When inflammation occurs, the internal tension of the gland increases, which can stimulate the sympathetic nerve and cause metastatic low back pain. The pain can radiate to the penis, testicles, scrotum, groin, perineum, lower abdomen, thigh, buttocks, rectum, and other places. Appears as dull or falling pain.
5. Others
Chronic prostatitis can be accompanied by neurosis, characterized by fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, and depression.
