Prostate cancer is a very common disease among men. Many clinical prostate cancer diseases have evolved from common prostate diseases at the beginning. For prostate cancer, patients must master their treatment methods before treatment. Let's take a look at the latest methods for treating prostate cancer.
1. Radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is an effective method for treating prostate cancer. Radiotherapy can often significantly shrink prostate tumors, and is mainly used for patients who are difficult to resect or have become unresectable but have no distant metastasis. Radiation therapy includes internal radiation therapy, external radiation therapy, and palliative radiotherapy, among which the most commonly used is external radiation therapy.
2. Cryosurgery. A frozen rod is inserted into the prostate through the urethra to raise the local temperature of the prostate to about 180 ℃, causing necrosis and detachment of the gland tissue, thereby destroying the tumor tissue. Cryopractic surgery has a low incidence of death and complications, and is relatively simple to operate. It can be used in elderly and infirm prostate cancer patients with cardiopulmonary damage who are not suitable for open surgery.
3. Endocrine therapy. Prostate cancer has a typical hormone dependence. In clinical practice, endocrine therapy can significantly alleviate prostate lesions and symptoms, but has no significant impact on patient survival.
4. Chemotherapy. The role of chemotherapy in the treatment of prostate cancer is to serve as an adjuvant treatment for advanced prostate cancer. It is mainly used for patients who have undergone surgical treatment or radiotherapy, but whose local tumors have been eliminated. Chemotherapy drugs are used to eliminate potential small lesions that are currently undetectable. Chemotherapy alone cannot cure the primary lesion, and adjuvant chemotherapy can prolong the survival period of patients after surgery. Experiments have found that the most sensitive chemotherapy agent for prostate cancer is cyclophosphamide.
5. Surgical treatment. Surgical treatment is still the preferred method for treating prostate cancer, but due to the late detection of prostate cancer, surgical opportunities are often missed. Prostate cancer patients are mostly elderly, while radical prostatectomy surgery is often more traumatic, so it is necessary to strictly grasp the indications and contraindications. In recent years, minimally invasive treatment of transurethral resection of the prostate has been newly developed to alleviate bladder neck obstruction, improve the symptoms of dysuria, and improve the quality of life of patients.
