Dead sperm syndrome refers to multiple semen tests that show no abnormal sperm morphology and normal sperm density, but the vast majority of sperm are dead. Under normal circumstances, within 1 hour of semen being expelled from the body, over 70% of normal surviving sperm should be present. If the number of dead sperm exceeds 40%, it will affect conception.
Many men have doubts about azoospermia: why do I get azoospermia when I am in my prime and in good health? Experts from Jinan Wanhou Infertility Hospital say: Sperm is extremely fragile, and smoking, alcohol, and even hot baths can kill it. Below is an analysis of the causes of azoospermia:
1、 Genital system inflammation: Inflammation of the male reproductive system. It can cause changes in the semen environment, especially the effects of chronic prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, orchitis, epididymitis, and other diseases. Causing semen quality to be affected and resulting in death.
2、 Varicocele: When varicocele occurs, it causes an increase in the local temperature of the testicles and vasoactive substances, thereby affecting testicular spermatogenic function. However, the degree of varicocele is not proportional to sperm quality.
3、 Prolonged abstinence may also lead to spermatosis: prolonged absence of ejaculation often leads to very high sperm density, increased dead sperm and poor sperm motility, which is normal, so abstinence for 5-7 days is appropriate before semen examination.
4、 Smoking and drinking: Smokers have fewer sperm count than normal males, while incomplete sperm count is much higher than normal males; Alcohol can cause sperm head and tail deformities and decrease their vitality. This can cause fetal deformities.
5、 High temperature environment, radiation and other physical factors: High temperature environment has a significant impact on sperm and can cause irreversible damage to the testicles. It can reduce the survival rate of sperm and lead to life-death sperm disease. And temporary exposure to radiation, etc.
