In the cold winter months, the most comfortable thing is to take a hot bath. Unfortunately, every winter, some people suffer from skin diseases, limb fatigue, and stroke.
It can be seen that bathing in winter is not advisable. Especially for people with poor cardiopulmonary function and low blood pressure regulation ability, they should be extra careful when taking a shower.
1
The water temperature should not be too high
Around 40 degrees Celsius is best
If the water temperature is too high, it will take away too much oil from the surface of the skin, making the skin that is already prone to dryness in winter even drier, and even itchy and cracked.
When taking a hot bath, blood vessels on the surface of the skin dilate, causing blood to flow to the skin, resulting in a relatively reduced blood supply to the brain and internal organs. If the water temperature during bathing is too high, the brain and internal organs may become ischemic, leading to discomfort such as palpitations, chest tightness, dizziness, and in severe cases, hypotension and even shock.
People who have already suffered from basic diseases such as hypertension and heart disease cannot take a "hot bath".
2
Not too frequent
Twice a week in the north
Taking a shower too frequently can wash away all the normal oil and protective bacteria secreted on the surface of the skin, which can easily cause itching, weaken the skin's resistance, and easily lead to skin diseases.
In the cold north, it is generally enough to take a bath once or twice a week. If the sebaceous glands secrete vigorously, the frequency can be appropriately increased.
Each shower should not exceed 20 minutes.
3
Unable to take a shower on an empty stomach
Take a shower half an hour after meals
Bathing consumes physical energy, and fasting can easily lead to hypoglycemia, leading to dizziness, limb weakness, and even fainting.
Taking a shower immediately after a meal is not good, as it can reduce the blood supply to the abdominal cavity and affect digestion. Therefore, it is best to take a shower half an hour after a meal.
4
Before bathing
Drink a glass of warm water
When taking a shower, the skin will sweat, causing the body to lose water. So, it is recommended to drink a glass of warm water before taking a shower to replenish body water and avoid situations such as hypotension.
5
In the bath
Proper ventilation and prevention of electric leakage and air leakage
Poor ventilation in the bathroom, coupled with stuffy and humid air pressure, can easily cause hypoxia. So, it's best not to close the doors and windows tightly when taking a shower in winter, but to open the exhaust fan or leave gaps in the doors and windows.
When turning on the electric heater during bathing, be careful to prevent electric leakage and shock.
Do not install the water heater in the bathroom, and properly install the exhaust facilities of the water heater to avoid air leakage.
6
After bathing
Dress in a timely manner
The temperature difference between the inside and outside of the bathroom should not be too large. Be sure to put on your clothes before leaving the bathroom to prevent catching a cold.
