The physical condition of a woman after childbirth is relatively weak. During the confinement period, many things need to be paid special attention to, and a lack of attention can leave irreparable harm to the body. A good delivery can significantly improve women's physical fitness after childbirth. Today, we will discuss how women should take care of their bodies after childbirth.
1、 Not brushing teeth
In the view of the older generation, women are not allowed to brush their teeth during confinement, fearing that toothbrushing may cause tooth pain and softness. Actually, this is baseless. After pregnancy, expectant mothers may experience changes in their endocrine system. If they do not clean their mouth in a timely manner, it can leave a lot of food in the gaps between their teeth, leading to an increase in oral bacteria. Under the action of a large number of bacteria, carbohydrates in the food residue can ferment and produce acid, leading to tooth decalcification and the formation of dental caries.
2、 Avoid consuming monosodium glutamate within 3 months after delivery
We usually eat monosodium glutamate, which can make our body's metabolism normal and effectively discharge body waste. Therefore, eating a little monosodium glutamate does not affect our own health. However, for babies, especially those under 12 weeks old, if the mother consumes an excessive amount of monosodium glutamate while consuming a high protein diet, it can cause the sodium glutamate in monosodium glutamate to enter the baby's body through milk.
The baby's own metabolic function is difficult to take the essence and discard the dross from the substance in monosodium glutamate, and it will specifically combine with the zinc in the baby's blood to generate glutamic acid that cannot be absorbed by the body, and let the zinc be discharged with urine, resulting in zinc deficiency in the baby. Mothers know that babies with zinc deficiency not only experience poor taste and anorexia, but also intellectual decline and delayed growth and development.
3、 Do not take a shower or comb your hair
So far, women are still not allowed to wash their hair during confinement, which has no scientific basis. In fact, this is a phenomenon caused by poor hygiene conditions in the past, but it has been misinterpreted as a way of postpartum maintenance.
Think about it, after giving birth, the new mother's sweat excretion is relatively high, and there are also milk, lochia, and residue from wound disinfection. If not cleaned up in a timely manner, bacteria may enter the body at any time, causing postpartum fever.
Normally, a new mother can take a bath one week after giving birth, and take a shower one month later. However, it is not advisable to take a tub bath to prevent the dirty water used for bathing from entering the reproductive tract and causing infection. When taking a shower, the room temperature should be maintained at 34-36 ℃, and the water temperature should be around 45 ℃. After taking a shower, the body should be quickly wiped dry, and clothes should be put on to prevent getting cold.
4、 Avoid easy cesarean section
Nowadays, due to the excessive imagination of many new mothers about the pain of childbirth, many expectant mothers still choose a cesarean section even before they have decided to do so, believing that this can avoid the pain of childbirth.
In fact, this cesarean section only delays pain through the action of anesthesia and cannot be eliminated. And for new mothers, cesarean section is a major surgery, with more complications than vaginal delivery.
5、 Avoid rushing to take ginseng
It is normal for women to receive nutritional supplements during the postpartum period, but they should not blindly or concentrate on supplementing ginseng in large quantities. Because ginseng contains multiple active ingredients, it has a wide range of excitatory effects on the human body, among which the excitatory effect on the central nervous system can lead to adverse reactions such as insomnia, irritability, and restlessness in new mothers. And the new mother has just given birth and has a lot of energy and physical exertion, so she needs to rest in bed. Taking ginseng at this time can make it difficult to sleep peacefully and affect energy recovery.
Because the new mother is in the lactation period after giving birth, the intake of nutrients directly affects the baby. Therefore, the new mother must understand the production and postpartum conditions before delivery, prepare mentally in advance, and reserve sufficient knowledge to recover faster, and the baby can also receive more and more easily absorbed nutrients as much as possible.
