1、 Avoid warm and greasy food.
In the early stages of ED, many people have excessive phlegm and dampness, coupled with a rich diet or a preference for drinking alcohol, resulting in the accumulation of dampness and heat, and the accumulation of dampness and heat. In this case, emphasizing solely on warming and tonifying can lead to overeating, accumulating dampness and generating heat, and even exacerbating the condition. For those with ED accompanied by red hot and astringent pain in urination, dry mouth, preference for drinking, red or yellow tongue coating, smooth or stringy pulse, or excessive phlegm and saliva, chest tightness and heavy body weight, they should avoid eating oily meat, including lamb, dog meat, chicken, sparrow meat, as well as spicy and warm products such as chili, scallions, leeks, garlic, etc; If phlegm is heavy, avoid eating thick and greasy foods such as chicken, duck, meat, and seafood. In addition, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and fried smoked products are also taboo items.
2、 Avoid cold food.
Patients with ED, especially those who have been for a long time, are essentially characterized by the deficiency of Yuanyang, the loss of nourishment in the Yin organs, and the loss of warmth in the Zongjin. In clinical practice, it is common to see low spirits, chills in the limbs, soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, and weak and thin veins. At this time, one should avoid eating cold foods such as mung beans, winter melon, celery, water chestnuts, and cold food. It is worth mentioning that some people believe that they should eat high protein foods, so they should eat more nourishing foods such as turtle. These foods are cold in nature and difficult to digest after eating, which hinders the circulation of the spleen and stomach, making the condition more severe. Therefore, cold and cool foods are generally avoided.
