Qi Bo replied: The twelve meridians, 365 collaterals, have their blood and qi on the face and go through the empty orifices, their essence and yang go through the eyes and become the eyes, their other qi go through the ears and become the ears, their zong qi comes from the nose and smells, and their turbid qi comes from the stomach and goes through the lips and tongue and tastes. The body fluid of its qi is smoked on the face, and its skin is thick, and its flesh is hard, so the weather is very cold and can not be overcome.

The Yellow Emperor said to Qibo, "All parts of the head and body, all muscles and bones are closely connected, and Qi and blood are connected up and down.". But why can the face of the cold sufferer be exposed to the outside, and it is not like the body that must wear clothes to keep out the cold?
Qibo replied that the blood of the twelve meridians of the whole body and the 365 collaterals connected with the twelve meridians reached up to the head and face and entered into the eyes, ears, nose and mouth respectively. The essence of Yang Qi in the meridians and collaterals is injected into the eyes, so that the eyes can produce vision; The meridians and collaterals are injected into the ears from both sides to produce hearing; The zong qi accumulated in the chest comes from the nose and makes the nose smell; The valley qi in the stomach reaches the lips and tongue from the stomach, and enables the tongue to distinguish various smells. The body fluid produced by the meridians and viscera is fumigated on the face. In addition, the skin of the face is thicker and the muscles are firmer, so even in extremely cold weather, it can still resist the cold without fear of cold.
The mechanism of wearing no clothes on the face
