Most of the patients who go to the dental hospital have dental caries (commonly known as "worm teeth"). Most patients are depressed. I brush my teeth every day. Why do I still get dental caries?
The formation of dental caries has four factors: bacteria, food, time and host. In the daily diet, there are many starch foods, which will turn into sugar after interacting with saliva during chewing. Now the food is more and more refined, and it is particularly easy to form soft dirt and adhere to the surface of teeth after eating and it is difficult to clean. The bacteria in the mouth will form plaque on the surface of the teeth, and the acidic substances produced by the fermentation and decomposition of the sugar in the soft scale will slowly erode the surface of the teeth, forming caries over time.
To prevent and cure dental caries, the most important thing is to do a good job of oral cleaning. However, many people brush their teeth incorrectly, resulting in a lot of soft dirt left on their teeth. The correct way to brush teeth is to tilt the brush hair 45 degrees towards the root of the tooth, gently shake it horizontally for about 10 times, then brush up, and then move to the next tooth. Make sure that the inside and outside of each tooth are brushed.
When brushing the upper and lower occlusal surfaces of the teeth, let the toothbrush and the occlusal surface do a vertical circular motion to brush. On the inner side of the upper and lower front teeth, erect the toothbrush perpendicular to the inner side of the front teeth, and brush the lower teeth upward and the upper teeth downward.
In addition, caries often occurs between two adjacent teeth. If you want to thoroughly clean your teeth, you cannot ignore the contact between teeth. Dental floss can be used to remove food residues and soft dirt in the teeth. After removal, it should be cleaned in time. For patients with gingival atrophy caused by periodontal disease, the gap between teeth is large, and they need to use the interdental brush to specially clean the gap between teeth.
Once caries is found, it should be treated as soon as possible. There is no feeling at the initial stage of caries, and the teeth have no healing function. Once the caries occurs, it will only get deeper and deeper. When the caries develops to the dentin, it will have a transient reaction to hot and cold sour. At this time, we should come to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible. This stage can be solved through simple treatment.
When the caries progress to the dental nerve, it is too late to treat the pain again. It needs to kill the nerve to cure it. Teeth without nerves become brittle like dead tree trunks. Biting hard objects can easily cut the teeth, and the teeth cannot be saved. Worse, losing a tooth can also cause problems with many surrounding teeth. Therefore, early treatment is the absolute principle.
