People tend to think that men are more tolerant of disease, but the opposite is true. The latest research confirms that men tend to moan more than women when they are ill. Half of men will exaggerate their illness, describe the common cold as a serious flu, and describe headache as migraine, so as to gain more sympathy from their partners.
The study, which tracked 3000 volunteers, found that although men have fewer colds or flu than women each year, men have an average of 5 times a year and women have an average of 7 times a year. However, women prefer to say that they are uncomfortable here and there. But when it comes to moaning, men are more experienced. Carl Elliot of the Mutual Aid said: "Considering the trend of 'male flu', men's reputation in this regard is really bad, but our findings support the following view: men do moan more than women, and they are more likely to exaggerate the disease." The organization commissioned this study.
According to the survey of women, about half of men exaggerate their illness. Only 40% of men describe the same condition as their partners. According to women, more than 57% of men would like more attention from others when they are ill, and 66% would complain and moan constantly.
According to men, only 50% of women would like others to pay more attention to them during their illness, and 56% would complain and moan all the time. A third of men admitted that they would be quiet when their partner was seriously ill. In contrast, according to women, only 26% of men have such performance. However, 76% of men refused to take leave when they were ill. About 60% of men said that their partners would complain about minor health problems every day, compared with 52% of women who reported that their other half would complain about minor health problems every day.
The survey found that women are very patient with fakers. Although 34% of women do not believe that their husband or boyfriend is seriously ill, 62% still show some sympathy for their partner. 60% of women said they didn't want to see their other half get sick; 49% of women said they would do their best to make their partner feel better. Two thirds of women will go to see a doctor and ask for medicine every time their partner is sick. 46% of women would bathe their sick partner, and another 27% would bring food to the bedside for their sick husband or boyfriend to eat.
