What's wrong with red glans in men after sexual intercourse? There are four common conditions for red spots on the glans in men
Sexual intercourse between couples is a very secretive matter, and many couples may encounter some awkward small problems during sexual intercourse. These issues may be difficult to address when seeking medical attention, but they cannot be ignored. For many male friends, in addition to the need to pay attention to foreskin issues, it is also important to seek medical attention promptly if the glans appears red after sexual activity. What is the reason for this phenomenon? Let's explore the issue of red glans after sexual activity.
1、 Glans penis
The glans, also known as the glans penis, refers to the ball shaped object at the front end of the penis, which is formed by the enlargement of the anterior end of the urethral sponge. At the end of the anterior end, there is a urethral opening, which is the common outlet for urine and semen. The penis can be divided into the head, body, and root from front to back. For men with long foreskin, the foreskin needs to be pulled down to see the glans. If the foreskin of an adult cannot be pulled down to reveal the glans, this is commonly referred to as phimosis and circumcision surgery needs to be performed at a reputable hospital. The coronal sulcus of the glans is a place for dirt and accumulation. After urination, residual urine will accumulate between the glans and the foreskin, causing substances in the urine to settle, bacteria and fungi to multiply, producing a large amount of urine scale, which is concentrated in the coronal sulcus. Generally speaking, urine stains should be cleaned once a day or two to avoid inflammation. Before sexual intercourse, the glans and foreskin must be cleaned
2、 Proliferative erythema
The clinical manifestations are: single or multiple red spots appear at the glans, which can be circular, circular, or irregular in shape, with clear boundaries, slightly high and hard, and a shiny surface. Sometimes there may be erosion, scabbing, or papillary hyperplasia. The disease may remain unchanged for many years or may become cancerous.
The cause of proliferative erythema is unknown, but it mainly occurs in the patients with too long prepuce, so it is considered to be related to the stimulation of too long prepuce and smegma. The author has performed circumcision surgery on several patients with this disease, and several of them had their erythema naturally disappear. Therefore, patients with this disease should undergo routine circumcision. There is no definite opinion on the treatment of proliferative erythema. Some scholars advocate circumcision and close observation; Some doctors advocate freezing or X-ray irradiation of the lesion. In addition, this disease is also known as erythematous hyperplasia or red hypertrophy. Patients who discover redness on the glans should not avoid seeking medical attention. Instead, they should seek medical attention from the urology department at the hospital in the morning and undergo circumcision surgery.
