Sexual Health
What will happen if gonorrhea persists for a long time? What can severe gonorrhea cause
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease, as we all know, so many people in daily life should pay more attention to reproductive health and refuse unhealthy sexual behavior. It brings a lot of harm and may lead to infertility.
The five major hazards of gonorrhea should be clearly defined
1. Causing urinary disorders or urinary accumulation. Urinary pain is mild, with only burning or slight pain in the urethra during urination, and terminal hematuria is common. Urine is usually transparent, but gonococcal filaments can be seen floating in it. Redness and swelling of the urethral opening, burning pain, pus discharge, etc.
2. Causing sexual dysfunction. If gonorrhea is not treated in a timely manner, it is prone to symptoms such as decreased libido, weak erection, impotence, premature ejaculation, and neurasthenia,
3. Inducing infertility. Gonorrhea is a retrograde infection that infects the male prostate, seminal vesicles, and epididymis. If sperm abnormalities occur, it can lead to infertility. Women can infect the cervix, endometrium, fallopian tubes, etc., causing salpingitis, blocked fallopian tubes, and infertility.
4. Gonorrhea balanoposthitis. The clinical symptoms begin with local burning, itching, slight pain, foreskin edema, and internal lobe erosion. Redness and mild erosion of the glans, significant swelling of the foreskin in critically ill patients, inability to flip, swelling of the glans, and subsequent inflammatory phimosis.
5. Gonorrhea testis inflammation. This disease is caused by gonorrhea invading the testes through the ejaculatory duct, and is the most common complication of acute posterior urethral gonorrhea. Manifestations include swelling of the epididymis, hard nodules on the surface, often radiating pain, and an increase in body temperature to around 39 degrees Celsius during the acute phase.
Various symptoms of extragenital gonorrhea
1. Gonococcal ophthalmopathy
The adult type often spreads pathogens when the patient rubs their fingers against the eyes, while the child type is more likely to be transmitted by the hands of gonorrhea parents or nannies to the child. The infant type is more likely to be infected during childbirth. The clinical manifestation is congestion and swelling of the conjunctiva, with a large amount of yellow purulent secretions leaking or seeping out from the eyelids. If not treated in a timely manner, the cornea can lose its luster and even ulcerate. Children often experience corneal perforation and total ophthalmitis, leading to blindness.
2. Gonococcal pharyngitis
The cause of the disease is mostly due to oral sexual behavior, which can also be transmitted to others through kissing. Pharyngeal pain, burning heat, difficulty swallowing, congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa, redness and swelling of the tonsils, and visible purulent secretions adhering to the pharyngeal wall.
