There are many types of impotence in clinical practice, and impotence caused by vascular lesions is called vascular impotence. Vascular impotence can also be classified into arterial impotence and venous impotence. Below, we will provide a specific analysis of the types of vascular impotence.
Types of vascular impotence
There are two types of vascular impotence:
1. Arterial impotence
Arterial impotence is an erectile dysfunction caused by insufficient arterial congestion in the cavernous body of the penis.
The blood supply arteries of the penis are divided into two groups: deep and shallow. The deep group of arteries consists of the penile deep artery that supplies the corpus cavernosum and the urethral artery that supplies the entire length of the urethral cavernosum. The former is the main source of blood supply to the penis. The superficial dorsal artery of the penis is located on both sides of the deep dorsal vein of the penis, and its branches penetrate the white membrane and enter the sponge body, anastomosing with the branches of the deep penile artery. When any one of the two groups experiences pathological changes, it may lead to insufficient congestion of the penis and cause impotence.
2. Venous impotence
Venous erectile dysfunction is caused by the damage to the complete venous closure mechanism of the penis, which leads to excessive venous reflux in the corpus cavernosum of the penis, known as "venous leakage".
The penile vein drainage system is also composed of two groups of deep and shallow veins. The superficial group has a superficial dorsal vein of the penis. The deep group consists of cavernous veins and deep dorsal veins of the penis. The cavernous veins of the penis drain the blood flow of the cavernous body and anastomose with the deep dorsal vein of the penis through the circumflex vein. There is only one deep dorsal vein of the penis, which drains the blood flow of the glans penis and the cavernous body. The damaged closure mechanism of this vein is the main cause of venous leakage.

No matter what type of erectile dysfunction you suffer from, you need to go to the hospital for treatment, as erectile dysfunction can affect your sexual life and should not be underestimated by anyone.
