Infertility is not solely caused by either male or female, and all the "credit" cannot be attributed to the female. So what are the reasons for male infertility?
Obstruction of vas deferens:
A small proportion of men may experience obstruction of the vas deferens, which prevents sperm from entering the semen. Infection, injury, congenital defect, or vasectomy can all lead to obstruction of the vas deferens.
Varicocele:
Varicocele refers to the dilation of veins in the scrotum, which is similar to varicose veins in other parts of the body and can increase the temperature inside the testicles, thereby affecting sperm production. It is usually discovered during the physical examination process.
Sperm abnormalities:
If you have problems such as low sperm count, azoospermia, low sperm motility (referring to the swimming ability of sperm) or deformed sperm, your sperm may not naturally fertilize your wife's eggs.
Immune factors
It can be divided into two categories: anti sperm autoimmunity produced by males and anti sperm alloimmunity produced by females. The sperm and the immune system are isolated due to the role of the blood testis barrier, so whether for men or women, the sperm antigen is a foreign antigen with strong Antigenicity. The blood-testis barrier and immunosuppressive factors in the seminal plasma jointly establish a complete set of immune tolerance mechanisms. When orchitis, epididymitis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, or surgery such as vas deferens ligation occurs, the above immune tolerance mechanisms are disrupted, which may lead to anti sperm immune reactions.
Ejaculation disorders:
Ejaculation disorders include complete non ejaculation and retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation refers to sperm not being ejaculated or retrograde ejaculation into the bladder. The causes of ejaculation disorders include diseases such as diabetes or multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, injury caused by surgery or psychological problems.
Unidentified male infertility:
When doctors are unable to diagnose the cause of male infertility, the diagnostic result may be unclear. Some experts believe that environmental toxins may be a contributing factor, but it has not yet been determined that there is a direct correlation between the two.
