Mobile phone enthusiasts are cautious of erectile dysfunction when using their phones every day. Scientists recruited 20 males who experienced sexual dysfunction within six months (Group A) and 10 healthy males (Group B). Each participant underwent a "Male Sexual Health Survey" and was evaluated using the "International Erectile Function Index". This study suggests a correlation between mobile phone use and erectile dysfunction, and the total duration of carrying a mobile phone every day is more affected by strong radiation than short-term conversations.
Using a mobile phone for four hours a day can cause impotence
When a partner wants to get intimate, the sudden ringing of a phone bell can "spoil the scenery". According to the Daily Mail of the UK, a new study has found that prolonged use and carrying of mobile phones may also lead to erectile dysfunction in men.
In the study, scientists recruited 20 males who experienced sexual dysfunction within six months (Group A) and 10 healthy males (Group B). Each participant underwent a "Male Sexual Health Survey" and was evaluated using the "International Erectile Function Index". The results showed that there were no significant differences in age, weight, smoking habits, etc. among these individuals. Surprisingly, people with erectile dysfunction spend much longer holding their phones in their hands or carrying them in their pockets than healthy men - the former is 4.4 hours per day, while the latter is only 1.8 hours.
Therefore, Muhammad Ali, the chief researcher, said that this study shows that there is a correlation between mobile phone use and erectile dysfunction, and the total time of carrying a mobile phone every day is more influential than the strong radiation of a short talk. The research team has previously conducted a study on the relationship between mobile phone use and infertility, and found that mobile phone use can also affect sperm quality, including sperm motility and morphology.
