As the weather gets colder, have you noticed a significant increase in the frequency of urination. "Excessive urination in cold weather" is actually a normal phenomenon. Cold weather can easily stimulate the bladder, coupled with reduced sweating in winter, so urination capacity naturally increases. However, if frequent or urgent urination occurs, it is highly likely that there is a problem with the prostate, and winter is also a high incidence period of prostate hyperplasia.
▼ Prostatic hyperplasia is mainly manifested in the following aspects:
(1) Frequency of urination: It is an early signal of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The frequency of urination in benign prostatic hyperplasia is very high, especially at night. The patient suffers from abnormal pain, and has to climb up and urinate 1-2 times every night, resulting in a serious decline in sleep quality.
(2) Waiting for urine, thinning of urine lines, and dripping urine: Due to the obstruction of the posterior urethra caused by hyperplasia of the prostate, patients need some time to urinate to overcome urethral resistance, leading to symptoms such as waiting for urination.
(3) Hematuria: The enlarged prostate gland has abundant blood supply and is prone to bleeding.
(4) Acute urinary retention: some patients usually have no symptoms and can not urinate spontaneously. It is very difficult to urinate, and sometimes it may take half a day to urinate.
(5) Pain in urination: Due to difficulty in urination, patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia often experience urinary discharge and retention in the urethra, which can easily breed bacteria and cause urinary tract infections, leading to pain in urination.
