While we are joyfully welcoming the arrival of spring, we must also do a good job in preventing the cold and keeping warm in the last few days of winter. Don't let the winter virus take advantage! Let's take a look at the health preserving rules during the severe cold season!
The severe cold usually occurs in the early December of the lunar calendar,
The Great Cold is the 24th solar term among the 24 solar terms.
The cold weather is extremely cold, hence the name Da Han. The Great Cold is the last solar term of the year, between April 9th and May 9th. The average temperature in the Yangtze River basin in China is between minus 2 ℃ and 4 ℃, and the minimum temperature is around minus 15 ℃.
In severe cold season, the weather is cold and snowy. In the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, there can be three heavy snowfalls before and after the severe cold, which is very important for a bumper harvest in the coming year. "A wheat covered three layer quilt can sleep on a bun.". If the weather is not cold during the severe cold season and the temperature is reversed, the phenomenon of "winter temperature" will not only affect the next year's harvest, but also cause a variety of diseases for people and livestock. Therefore, a folk proverb says, "Great cold does not affect people and horses." The method to prevent cold is: "Great cold, prevent wind and resist cold, drink Huangqi Ginseng Wine early, and take Jinkui Shenqi Pill late."
In severe cold season, to prevent the onset of old diseases, we should start from the following aspects.
01 Strengthen cold protection and warmth preservation
People with emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and coronary heart disease should pay attention to keeping their heads, backs, and feet warm. As the saying goes, "Cold starts at your feet." "Wearing a hat in winter is better than wearing a cotton-padded jacket." "Your back is warm and your body is safe." In winter, you should wear soft, pure cotton, lightweight warm clothing to prevent cold from entering from the outside, causing vasospasm and accidents. Whenever strong winds and cold currents come, elderly people should reduce their outdoor activities, and indoor heating and insulation should also be carried out.
02 Insist on physical exercise
During winter exercise, it is necessary to pay attention to protecting the "yang qi", so that the yang qi can be trapped inside and not leaked out. For the elderly, it is advisable to take a walk, play Taijiquan, and do health exercises. Some elderly people go out early, the ground is dim, and the dust in the air has not yet dispersed, so they rush out, which is not suitable for exercise. It's best to go out and exercise after the sun comes out. If you don't have enough time to exercise, you can make up for it at night, but it is advisable not to exceed one hour per day.
03 Pay attention to regulating diet
Winter diet should warm the kidney and replenish yang. Eat more protein rich foods, such as eggs, fish, meat, milk, beans, and so on. Supplement vitamins and eat more fresh vegetables such as carrots, celery, leeks, spinach, cabbage, bean sprouts, and fresh fruit. Drink plenty of hot soup and vegetable soup to nourish the internal organs, help dispel cold and keep warm, and strengthen the body. But eat less fried and barbecue foods.
04 Pay attention to yin essence protection
"Nourishing Yin in Autumn and Winter" means not only paying attention to protecting Yang Qi, but also beware of the loss of Yin essence. Middle aged and old people should control their sexual intercourse, and they can also take some Chinese medicines that nourish yin essence, such as Dihuang Pills, a traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations. Among them, Jinkui Shenqi Pills are the most suitable. It can both nourish yang and yin essence, which can kill two birds with one stone.
