The seven-year itch is an imported word. According to the meaning of the word, the seven-year itch can easily be understood as a problem that arises only in the seventh year of a marriage, often referred to as aesthetic fatigue.
However, in my opinion, the seven-year itch does not refer to the seventh year when problems arise. The reality is that the problem has already arisen, but both of them are enduring it, leaving some opportunities for each other and for themselves. However, in the seventh year, I was no longer willing to endure it. Therefore, the seven-year itch is not just a slight itch, but may be a major problem.
Just, why is it the seventh year, and what special meaning does it have?
According to psychological theory, the personality structure and intellectual institutions of 6-year-old children are basically stereotyped. In other words, a child's first childhood is six years, starting from the seventh year and beginning with a second childhood of personality and intellectual structure. This also seems to explain why there is a seven-year itch.
In marriage, when faced with an unfulfilled transformation dream, both parties will have great disappointment and be surprised to find that this closest person is not what they imagined. He (she) seems to be completely another person.
Therefore, the seven-year itch actually means a sense of disillusionment.
Therefore, this is also a great opportunity. If both people see each other's true existence and are willing to accept each other's most authentic side, a new and authentic relationship can be established. This relationship does not look as moving as the previous six years, but it is more stable, reliable, flexible, and relaxed. If this relationship continues, it will become deeper and more fascinating.
Therefore, when falling into the seven-year itch, there is no need to panic or be discouraged. Instead, you should recognize its value and accept your sense of disillusionment, which must be good. Only when disillusionment occurs, can the next relationship be a return to true love. Two illusions, no matter how infatuated with each other, are just illusions. Accept the truth of each other, love each other can go further.
