1. Anti hypertensive drugs have been reported to cause ED most frequently. It is now generally believed that among anti hypertensive drugs, the main causes of ED are diuretics and β- Receptor blockers.
2. Gastrointestinal drugs that are widely used, such as cimetidine, ranitidine, and Nizatidine, are mainly used to treat peptic ulcers. An increasing number of cases have reported that they can cause sexual dysfunction. For example, young men who take cimetidine for a long time may experience ED, loss of libido, and breast development.
3. Antidepressants. Among the commonly used antidepressants, imipramine, amitriptyline, clomipramine, and novel selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors can all cause erectile dysfunction, ejaculation abnormalities, and lack of sexual desire.
4. Psychostimulants and anesthetics. The most common are alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and so on.
5. Anti tumor drugs. The damage of anti-tumor drugs to the gonads is easily overlooked. Drugs such as cyclophosphamide, nitrogen mustard, vincristine, and cytarabine can cause erectile dysfunction or sperm deficiency in men, while women can experience menstrual disorders and menopause.
6. Prostate drugs. Drugs for treating prostate hyperplasia such as 5- α Reductase inhibitors (trade name: Baoliezhi) can also have side effects of erectile dysfunction and reduced ejaculation. In addition, commonly used drugs for the treatment of prostate cancer, such as antiandrogenic drugs (Fuzhier, etc.), can affect sexual desire, penis erection, ejaculation, etc. by affecting the secretion of androgens.
