Abnormal sperm quality
A normal male ejaculation volume of 2-6 milliliters per ejaculation, less than 1 milliliter or more than 6 milliliters, has a certain impact on fertility. Under normal circumstances, the number of sperm should be (50-100) × 106 per milliliter, if the number of sperm per milliliter of semen is less than 20 × 106 per milliliter can cause male infertility. If abnormal sperm such as small head, double head, double tail, and non shedding cytoplasm exceed 20%, or if sperm motility is weakened, it can also cause male infertility. The longer the interval between sperm production and excretion, the lower its vitality. Having sexual intercourse the next day during ovulation can increase the chances of conception, and the quality of sperm is the best.
Semen quality directly affects the quality of zygote, so semen examination is an important item in reproductive health examination. If the quality of sperm is poor or the number of sperm is insufficient, the probability of abnormal zygote is high. However, spontaneous abortion in the early pregnancy is mostly because the zygote itself is not healthy, the sperm is not healthy, and the embryo is difficult to survive.
Sperm motility is generally divided into 5 levels, with level 0 indicating no active sperm, which remains inactive even after heating; Level 1 indicates poor sperm motility and no forward movement; Level 2 indicates good sperm activity and slow waveform movement; Level 3 indicates rapid sperm movement, but with more waveform movements; Level 4 indicates that sperm generally move rapidly in a straight line. Normal sperm motility is generally greater than level 3, and when level 0 and level 1 sperm account for more than 40% of a single ejaculation, it constitutes the cause of male infertility.
