Precautions for infertile patients in life
What should male infertility patients pay attention to? Generally speaking, couples who cohabit for one year after marriage and do not use any contraceptive measures can be initially diagnosed as male infertility if their spouse is unable to conceive due to male reasons. In order to prevent and treat this disease, male friends should pay attention to the following points in their daily life:
Have healthy and reasonable eating habits. Less sugar and fat, eat less fast food, and avoid foods containing preservatives and colorants. Eat more foods with high levels of zinc and selenium that can promote sperm activity, such as dairy products, fish, oysters, liver, soybeans, black beans, and black rice. Fruit and vegetables should be washed repeatedly before consumption.
Try not to smoke or drink alcohol. Tobacco and alcohol are not only the enemy of eugenics, but also a cause of male infertility. Due to the strong teratogenic substances contained in cigarette smoke, smoking in men often leads to a decrease in sperm count. Smoking 20 cigarettes a day results in a sperm survival rate of only 50%, and multiple types of abnormal sperm appear, leading to the potential for infertility or birth of children with congenital abnormalities.
Maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid various reproductive tract infections. Male genital tract infections often cause orchitis, epididymitis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, urethritis, and so on. Pathogens that cause infection include gonococci, tuberculosis bacilli, viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia trachomatis, trichomonas, and other non specific pathogenic bacteria. Among them, genital tract infections caused by mycoplasma and chlamydia are the most common. Genital tract infections can affect sperm production and motility, resulting in oligospermia, and can also lead to obstruction of the vas deferens and azoospermia.
Avoid excessive bath water temperatures (especially when taking a sauna regularly), avoid wearing tight underwear, jeans, and avoid sitting in soft chairs or driving for long periods of time. This is because: under normal circumstances, sperm must develop normally in a constant temperature environment of 34 ℃ to 35 ℃ (3 ℃ to 4 ℃ lower than body temperature). If the scrotal temperature is often higher than this standard, it will be very detrimental to sperm growth, or cause excessive "dead sperm" and infertility.
Marry at the right age, don't procreate too late. Nowadays, the concept of "starting a career first and starting a family later" is prevalent, and the age of marriage and childbirth for men is generally delayed. According to research, there is a natural decline in male fertility after the age of 35. For a long time, people have emphasized that older women are prone to miscarriage, but often overlooked the impact of father's age on miscarriage. A new study shows that the older a father is, the more likely a fetus is to miscarry.
Maintain a good state of mind and avoid anxiety, tension, and other negative emotions. When a person is in a long-term negative mood, their endocrine and immune functions will significantly decline, and their sexual and spermatogenic functions will also be affected accordingly. Finally, it should be noted that couples with infertility must not blindly believe in advertising, and it is best to seek medical advice and consultation from public hospitals with strong technical strength and good public credibility, in order to avoid being deceived and delaying treatment.
