According to a new British survey, women only need to take a look at a man's face to know whether they are showing their love to themselves out of physical need or sincerity. The shape of a person's face is often more indicative of their sexual intentions than any language. Male men are not very reliable.
Researchers have found that a man's face shape can provide women with sufficient clues to determine whether they will eventually enter a marriage or whether a one-night stand ends.
These clues include the shape of their chin, the size of their nose, and the shape of their eyes. And women instinctively believe that men with square jaws, small eyes, large noses, and other masculinity only care what they once had, not how long they will last.
The researchers concluded that careful observation of facial features can determine how long people are treating relationships, and women can use this to avoid meeting men who have no long-term relationships, thereby deciding who is more suitable for fathering their children.
"Women also prefer to associate with gentler, slightly feminine men rather than those with full masculinity, because they believe that such people lack a sense of reliability and will not become competent fathers.".
Although not as accurate as women's judgments, men can also tell from women's facial characteristics whether their attitudes towards "sex" are open or conservative. It is generally believed that women with beautiful faces treat relationships most casually.
The findings appear in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior. Researchers showed 700 men and women in their early 20s photos, as well as some composite photos. These photos have been specially processed to show the facial features of those who have a casual attitude towards "sex" and are more affectionate.
Researchers have found that instant sensations not only have a significant impact on people's choice of partner, but also are often correct in judging a person's attitude towards one-night stands by interpreting their faces.
