October 28th is World Men's Health Day, and urology experts from major hospitals in Guangzhou walked out of their clinics to propose the concept of "male health management" for men. Professor Ran Wei from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University stated that the changing perspective of society on male health is no longer just a health issue for men themselves, but an important factor affecting the quality of family life. Therefore, paying attention to male health is an important measure to improve the quality of family life.
It is reported that on September 1st this year, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University opened a new male health clinic. Professor Deng Chunhua from the urology department of the hospital pointed out that this can enable more male compatriots to have a comprehensive understanding of their reproductive health issues during the physical examination process. He pointed out that male health management mainly focuses on three aspects of men: firstly, ED is a barometer of male cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; 2、 Decreased libido requires examination of androgens; 3、 An annual prostate examination is essential.
Professor Sun Xiangzhou from the Urology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University pointed out that in the past, many people did not realize that poor erection was a physical disease, and even among doctors, few people would consider ED as a sign of overall health decline. However, in recent years, new studies continue to confirm that ED has a common pathogenesis with many chronic diseases, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc. "We often meet some patients who complain of erectile dysfunction in the urological clinic. After systematic examination, we find that there are also chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc., and ED is more common in cardiovascular diseases.".
Taking coronary heart disease as an example, ED and it share many common risk factors, such as age, lipid metabolism disorders, smoking, meditation, obesity, and so on. Impaired endothelial function of blood vessels leads to a decrease in vasodilation, which is the main cause of vascular disease. Cardiovascular disease also originates from a decrease in endothelial function, causing changes in function and structure, and ultimately triggering various cardiovascular diseases.
Deng Chunhua said that in clinical practice, men need to face up, so many male patients are unwilling to face diseases such as ED. When men have ED symptoms, it is actually a signal of early cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. If they avoid medicine and delay treatment, it will only lead to the emergence of various chronic diseases. Therefore, in order to take care of "male face" and "male health", it is necessary to establish more convenient medical treatment methods for men and receive formal treatment in a more comfortable environment.
For the treatment of ED, it is necessary to adopt a dual approach of "physical and mental co treatment, husband and wife co diagnosis", in order to help patients and partners truly overcome the shadow of ED disease. Deng Chunhua pointed out that PDE5 inhibitors are currently internationally recognized first-line treatment options for ED, but there are several types of PDE5 inhibitors that need to be selected based on the specific situation of the patient. For example, based on the duration of drug action, PDE5 inhibitors can be divided into two types: long-acting and short-acting. The long-acting drug tadalafil, due to its long-term mechanism, can make marital life more casual and harmonious. However, regardless of the treatment method adopted, patients should first seek medical attention in a timely manner, understand the current situation of their own problems, and receive treatment or medication under the doctor's advice.
