During sleep, the brain is not completely separated from the external world, and the possibility of integrating stimuli from the external environment into the dream is greatly beyond people's imagination. Sleeping on your stomach can affect the normal oxygen supply to the brain, causing the brain to start thinking or imagining unconsciously, and increasing the chances of having sex dreams.
Four sleeping positions in men impair sexual function
1. Prone position
Many men will ask, "Isn't it good to sleep on your stomach? You can sleep soundly on your stomach!"
In fact, men sleeping on their stomach, that is, lying prone, not only oppresses the internal organs, resulting in poor breathing, long-term damage to internal organs, but also oppression of the reproductive system.
The penis is compressed, hindering blood circulation, and is prone to frequent ejaculation, causing symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue in men, affecting normal work and life.
When the scrotum is compressed and the heat cannot be dissipated effectively, it can increase the temperature of the scrotum, adversely affect the spermatogenic function of the testicle, and reduce male fertility.
Therefore, men who have not yet achieved "fatherhood" should pay particular attention and never lie prone.
2. Lying on the left side
Due to the fact that the heart is located on the left side of the body, when a man sleeps in a left lying position, the heart can be oppressed, making people restless and prone to poor sleep quality.
Moreover, when the heart is compressed, the blood circulation throughout the male body, including the reproductive organs, slows down.
When the reproductive organs do not receive sufficient blood supply for a long time, it may cause male erectile dysfunction.
3. Right recumbent
Lying on the right side is considered a good sleeping position, but not every male is suitable for sleeping on the right side.
Medical experts have discovered that whether lying on the left or right side can lead to an unexpected occurrence - testicular torsion.
The testicles "reside" within the scrotum, each connected to the body through a tissue called the spermatic cord, which has blood vessels that provide blood circulation to the testicles.
When men sleep in a lateral position, the testicles and penis are squeezed between their legs, and the pressure they bear is significantly greater than when they stand.
Some men, especially teenagers, move around and twist their legs during sleep, which may cause twisting and knotting of the spermatic cord.
As the blood vessels that supply nutrients and excrete metabolites to the testis pass through the spermatic cord, once the spermatic cord undergoes torsion, the testis cannot receive nutrients and excrete metabolites. If the torsion lasts for more than 12 hours, the testis may suffer from ischemia and necrosis.
Therefore, lying on the right side is not the best sleeping position for men. If men insist on lying on the right side, they should also pay attention to their "sleeping posture" and avoid moving and twisting.
4. Supine
Lying on the back is the most suitable sleeping position for men.
Men choose a supine sleep position and naturally separate their legs, which neither compresses the internal organs and reproductive organs, but also avoids scrotal torsion, allowing sufficient room for the scrotum and penis to move.
It can effectively dissipate heat, promote blood circulation in the reproductive organs, and is most beneficial to reproductive system health and sexual function.
