Many patients with sexual psychological disorders do not have prominent personality disorders, and there are no other personality defects except for a single sexual psychological disorder that exhibits sexual behavior that is different from that of the general population. Therefore, it is currently commonly referred to as sexual psychological disorder.
The common characteristic of sexual psychological disorders is that patients have different targets for sexual excitement, impulses, and sexual behavior compared to the general population. They generate strong sexual excitement towards certain objects or situations that do not cause sexual excitement among ordinary people, such as underwear, handkerchiefs, etc., which have been used by women, and have varying degrees of interference or reduction in normal sexual behavior.
The treatment of sexual psychological disorders is relatively difficult, and patients themselves and their families often feel very painful, but symptomatic support and treatment are still helpful.
(1) Positive education
Clearly point out the harmfulness of certain behaviors, some of which violate current laws and unit systems, and do not conform to the customs and habits of the culture, and educate patients to overcome their sexual deviation tendencies through willpower.
(2) Psychology
The efficacy of psychological therapy depends on whether the patient's desire for treatment is strong, and whether the patient feels uneasy or painful about their sexual psychological deviation. If the answers to the above two points are affirmative, the efficacy is relatively good. If sexual psychological disorders occur early and last for a long time, and the patient is over 40 years old, the therapeutic effect is not good.
(3) Behavior correction
Especially for patients with ineffective psychological therapy, there is currently a tendency to use non hormonal drugs that affect sexual desire. The clinical effects of anxiolytics and antidepressants have also been preliminarily recognized and can be considered for application.
(4) Other
People with transsexuality often request surgery to change their gender, but transgender surgery is complex, difficult, and costly, especially when family and friends strongly oppose it. Some may experience psychogenic depression and suicide. The surgical effect is also uncertain, and hormone replacement therapy after surgery has many adverse reactions.
From a psychological perspective, patients cannot accept themselves before surgery, and society finds it difficult to accept them after surgery. Some people have to live anonymously in different places after surgery. Therefore, surgery should be performed with caution and corresponding legal procedures should be followed.
Sexual psychological disorders and sexual dysfunction are often accompanied by each other. When discovering any anomalies in one's sexual behavior, it is best to seek the help of a professional doctor as soon as possible. If there is a physical problem, it is necessary to actively seek treatment and cooperation. If it is a psychological problem, it is necessary to express one's own feelings and reverse it. Do not be ashamed to speak up and lead to worse consequences.
