How to check the quality of male sperm

1. Semen color and viscosity
Normal semen is gray-white jelly, usually liquefied into transparent liquid after 10 minutes. If it is not discharged for a long time (about 1 month), the semen discharged after the second time is light yellow, which is also normal.
2. Sperm motility
To check whether the quality of sperm is healthy, we should first check the motility of sperm, which is the ability of sperm to move forward and is affected by temperature and storage time. After ejaculation, the semen will lose its activity if it is placed at 37 ℃ for 8 hours.
3. PH of sperm
Normal fresh semen is slightly alkaline, with a pH value between 7.2 and 8.9, with an average of 7.8. When it is slightly acidic, sperm activity and metabolic rate are both decreased, and when it is slightly alkaline, it is enhanced. Over-alkali is counterproductive. If fresh semen is left for a long time, it will acidify itself and affect sperm vitality. Therefore, the semen must be fresh and should not exceed 1 hour.
4. Semen volume
On the 6th day after the sperm has not been discharged within 5 days, the sperm volume reaches 3-5 ml, usually not less than 1.5 ml, which is regarded as normal sperm volume; On the contrary, it can be regarded as semen reduction.
5. Sperm survival rate
In general, the amount of A-level sperm is insufficient, and the sperm survival rate is less than 40%, mainly c-level sperm.
6. Normal value of activity
There are also some cases to check the quality of sperm to check the motility of sperm. Usually, within 60 minutes of male ejaculation, 50% of sperm has forward movement ability, 25% or has fast forward movement ability.
