There are many categories of prostate diseases, including prostate abscess, which is a relatively common disease that afflicts patients. Many male patients cannot find a suitable treatment method, take drugs casually, seek surgery at any hospital, and so on. All of these can seriously affect their condition and not receive the best treatment, so treatment methods are very important.
1、 Pharmacotherapy
(1) General support and symptomatic treatment, including bed rest, semi lying position to facilitate inflammation limitation, adequate nutrition and fluid intake, physical cooling during high fever, correction of electrolyte disorders and acid-base balance, and sedatives and analgesics for severe pain.
(2) Antibiotics should be selected based on the bacterial culture of urine and pus. When conditions permit, penicillin should be the first choice. In severe cases, broad-spectrum antibiotics can be administered intravenously. Antibiotics should be used in sufficient amounts to control the condition in the short term.
① Ampicillin: 4-6 g/day, intravenous drip.
② Kaifulong: 2-4g/day, intravenous drip.
③ Metronidazole: 0.4 g/time, taken orally 3 times a day, or 250 ml, given intravenously 2 times a day.
④ Clolincomycin: 600 mg each time, 2-3 times a day, intravenous drip, suitable for anaerobic bacteria caused prostate abscess.
2、 Surgical treatment
In general, it is advisable to use perineal prostate puncture and aspiration for prostate abscess, while injecting antibiotics into the purulent cavity. If the abscess is significantly enlarged and cannot be drained to the urethra or ruptured to the urethra, abscess incision and drainage may be used.
(1) Transperineal prostatotomy and drainage: incision and drainage are performed on both sides of the midline. This method has the advantage of sufficient drainage without leaving a dead space or false passage. The disadvantages are multiple tissue injuries, deep incisions, and scar formation after surgery.
(2) Transrectal prostatotomy and pus drainage: It is suitable for abscess around the posterior lobe of the prostate. The advantage of this method is that it is located under the rectal mucosa, which is easy to operate, and the pus flows out from the anus.
3、 Physical therapy
Local hyperthermia can be used for prostate abscess. Simple and commonly used methods such as wax therapy or hot water bags placed on the lower abdomen and perineum for hot compress can increase local blood circulation, promote abscess localization, and dissipate inflammation. However, burns should be prevented.
After understanding these treatment methods, is it possible to become less afraid of prostate abscess? Many male patients have recurrent conditions in their lives because they have not found the best treatment method suitable for them, and some patients simply do not treat them and let them develop. These are not the correct attitudes towards the disease, so it is necessary to actively treat them.
