Frequent urination, urgency, and pain in urination - symptoms of bacterial prostatitis
Prostatitis mainly refers to a type of disease, clinically divided into four categories, and chronic bacterial prostatitis is one of them. What are the symptoms of bacterial prostatitis?
Acute bacterial prostatitis
The onset is sudden, with chills and high fever, accompanied by frequent urination, urgency, pain in urination, and perineal pain. Dyuria or acute urinary retention occurs. On digital rectal examination, the prostate is swollen and full, with obvious tenderness, and local temperature increases. Those who form an abscess have a sense of wave motion. Acute pyelonephritis can occur simultaneously with hematogenous infection.
Chronic bacterial prostatitis
Chronic bacterial prostatitis has recurrent symptoms of lower urinary tract infection, such as frequent urination, urgency of urination, pain in urination, burning sensation in urination, difficulty in urination, retention of urine, and distension and discomfort in the anal perineum area of the posterior urethra. The duration exceeds 3 months.
pathogeny
Acute bacterial prostatitis: The main pathogenic factor of bacterial prostatitis is Escherichia coli, followed by Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Pseudomonas, and the vast majority of bacterial infections are caused by a single pathogen. Bacteria or other pathogens infect the prostate and rapidly multiply in large numbers, most of which are hematogenous infections and retrograde infections through the urethra.
Chronic bacterial prostatitis: The main pathogenic factor is retrograde infection, with the main pathogens being Staphylococcus, followed by Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium, and Enterococcus. Prostate stones and urine reflux may be important reasons for the persistence of pathogens and the recurrence of infection.
The predisposing factors for prostatitis include smoking, drinking alcohol, a preference for spicy food, inappropriate sexual activity, long-term hyperemia of the prostate caused by prolonged sitting, and long-term chronic compression of pelvic floor muscles, coldness, fatigue, etc., leading to decreased body resistance or specific physical fitness.
