Nephrotic syndrome often occurs in childhood, during which children are in the early stages of development due to various organ functions and are prone to various complications caused by kidney disease, commonly known as nephrotic syndrome. So far, the cause of the disease has not been found, as its course is complex and long, making it difficult to treat. Below, we will introduce the nursing principles for children with nephrotic syndrome.
1、 In terms of medication: Children with stable conditions generally still need medication. Teachers and healthcare physicians should check the medication intake of children on a daily basis. Due to the fact that children generally need to take diuretic hormone drugs, their urine volume increases, and teachers need to pay special attention. During classes or activities, children should be reminded to go to the bathroom in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary pain to the child.
2、 In terms of diet: Due to the large amount of protein excreted from the urine, the body often experiences protein deficiency, so it should be supplemented from the diet. The recipe of a sick child should contain sufficient protein, such as fish, lean meat, poultry, soy products, etc. In addition, the intake of salt should also be limited, generally not exceeding 2 grams per day. If the kindergarten lacks the conditions to prepare this special diet for children, parents can bring it on their own and heat it up during meals to make the children eat delicious and full. There is no need to limit their dietary intake.
3、 During exercise: Due to the long-term use of hormones by the child, their immune system may decrease and they are prone to developing respiratory infections. Therefore, strict restrictions should be placed on the child's physical activity. You can play quiet games and avoid strenuous exercise to prevent children from getting tired and worsening their condition.
4、 Pay attention to children's clothing and sleep: It is important to add or remove clothing in a timely manner according to weather changes, and pay attention to keeping warm. During a nap, more attention should be given to ensure that the child has sufficient sleep.
5、 Mastering the epidemic and avoiding cross infection: Once other infectious sources of diseases appear in kindergartens, children with kidney disease should be promptly isolated or sent home for cultivation to prevent infection with other infectious diseases.
Nephrotic syndrome is a collection of kidney diseases, as children have lower immune abilities and are more likely to develop from one type of kidney disease to multiple kidney complications than adults. This also makes children a high-risk group for nephrotic syndrome. But we are not helpless in preventing pediatric nephrotic syndrome. As long as the above is achieved, I believe it can prevent pediatric nephrotic syndrome.
