dysuria? There is a problem with the prostate! Do you have symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency and endless urination
After entering middle age, men increasingly find that "convenience" becomes inconvenient: frequent urination, urgent urination, and endless urination... These are not normal conditions for the elderly. They are probably warnings issued by prostate diseases. If left unchecked, they may cause renal function damage.
The prostate is a part of the male urinary tract, which surrounds the urethra and is close to the bladder. It produces prostatic fluid, which is the main part of semen. The normal prostate is small and shaped like an inverted chestnut. With the increase of male age, the prostate will also "grow up" quietly, such as the size of an almond before puberty, and after middle age, it may grow to the size of a goose egg or even larger, leading to "hypertrophy of the prostate", or benign prostatic hyperplasia. If there is excessive or frequent urination at night, the urine line becomes thinner, urination is weak, urination waiting, and terminal dripping A series of symptoms, such as endless urination, urgency and pain in urination, indicate the disease of prostatic hyperplasia, which is also one of the common frequently-occurring diseases in middle-aged and elderly men.
The latest survey shows that more than 50% of men over 60 years old in China suffer from BPH, and the incidence rate after 80 years old is as high as 83%. Although benign prostatic hyperplasia is not as terrible as cancer, it will not directly endanger life.
However, if it is allowed to develop, the disease will become worse, which may lead to many serious complications, such as hematuria, acute urinary retention, urgent urinary incontinence, bladder stones, hydronephrosis, urinary tract infection, and even renal failure, uremia, which not only endanger the health of the elderly men, but also greatly reduce their quality of life. Because of dysuria, frequent urination and urgency, many elderly people are afraid to go out for activities, drink water before going out, and often get up at night to go to the toilet, resulting in long-term lack of sleep.
Experts remind that men who have passed the age of 40 can simply self-test to understand their prostate status. For example, in the last month, whether the number of urination at night has increased, whether there is often the feeling of endless urination, whether the interval between two urinations is often less than two hours, whether there has been intermittent urination, whether there is the phenomenon that urination can not wait, whether there is often wet underwear, whether there is the phenomenon of thin urine line, whether it needs to work hard to start urination, etc.
Once abnormalities are found, they should go to the hospital for prostate disease screening as soon as possible, including digital rectal examination and prostate B-ultrasound. After diagnosis, they should be treated according to the requirements.
At present, for patients with early prostatic hyperplasia, drug treatment is the first choice and the main treatment method. Patients should follow the doctor's advice, adhere to medication, gradually reduce the prostate volume through drugs, and relieve symptoms; If the patient has mild symptoms, you can also observe and wait without medication, but you must check regularly and actively intervene once the disease progresses.
