Do you need to pay attention to the timing when taking contraceptive pills? What is the time for taking contraceptive pills
Nowadays, contraceptives on the market are mainly divided into short acting, quick acting, and long-term acting. Different contraceptives have significant differences in their consumption methods and precautions. Only when consumed correctly can it reduce damage to the body and improve its contraceptive rate.
When is the best time to take birth control pills?
1. Long acting contraceptive pills
Long acting contraceptives are directly absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, stored in adipocytes or tissues, and slowly released into the bloodstream, achieving the effect of long-lasting contraception. Just taking one long-term contraceptive pill per month can maintain the contraceptive effect for about a month. The first pill should be taken at noon on the 5th day of menstruation, and the second contraceptive pill should be taken 5 days later. After taking medication for about 10 days, menstruation will begin. During this period, medication should not be suddenly stopped. If you want to stop taking medication, you must take short-term contraceptives on the 5th day of your menstrual cycle for about three months, which can help your body have a transition period. But women who have not given birth cannot eat it for a long time because it contains a large amount of hormones.
2. Quick acting contraceptive pills
Quick acting contraceptives have nothing to do with the early stages of menstruation, and can be taken anytime according to one's own needs. This type of contraceptive pill mainly suppresses ovulation through the action of hormones inside, reducing the penetration ability of sperm and preventing the normal implantation of fertilized eggs, ultimately achieving contraceptive effects. As a postoperative contraceptive, the earlier one takes this type of contraceptive, the higher the success rate of contraception.
3. Short acting contraceptive pills
Short acting contraceptive pills are made from progesterone and estrogen. Starting from the 5th day of menstruation, take the first contraceptive pill, and then take one pill every night for 22 consecutive days without interruption. The contraceptive effect can last up to a month. Do not suddenly interrupt medication to avoid contraceptive failure or breakthrough bleeding. If the patient has been amenorrhea for about two months, medication should be stopped immediately for observation. The other two different brands of contraceptive drugs cannot be mixed together.
Kind reminder
Not all people are suitable for taking contraceptives, and people with hypertension, malignant tumors, breast cancer and reproductive organ related cancers cannot take contraceptives. The dosage and usage of drugs for each cause are different. It is necessary to read the instructions carefully before taking the medication, otherwise it may cause serious damage to the liver and kidneys. Long acting contraceptives can be taken continuously for about three years, while short acting contraceptives can be taken continuously for six years. If taken for a long time, regular physical examinations should be taken at the hospital. Women who want to get pregnant should stop using birth control pills for six months before getting pregnant, in order to avoid damaging the fetal nervous system. There are many contraceptive drugs whose main components are concentrated on the sugar coating, so they should be placed in a dry place to prevent moisture and failure.
